Hands-on tuition with ample demonstrations using a practiced, professional technique. Your hand will be held throughout and you will be guided through the process from start to finish.
Choosing a canvas is very important that allows your talents to shine as you paint. So here, at Candid, we will teach you to make your own canvases during the Summer School in the time honoured traditional way using the finest materials. Making your own canvases is really very simple, very quick and extremely cost effective – you’ll be surprised! We can supply the materials too. From the first brush stroke you’ll notice the difference and you’ll never look back! Canvases will be sold for £20.
Drawing – the real basics – essential elements to start to learn to draw properly. Nothing overlooked – a sound beginning giving you a solid start. You will be taught how to simplify what is in front of you to the essentials of structure and form to quickly obtain a block in which will be the foundation of your painting.

A thorough talk on colour theory and paint mixing will help to guide you through the early stages of applying paint to your canvas.
